Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Terms and Conditions”) carefully before using the website http(s)://(www.)materiasecunda.com (the “Service”) operated by Materia Secunda. (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not use the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Orders & Availability

Each scent is handcrafted in small batches. While we do our best to keep everything in stock, availability is not guaranteed. If an item becomes unavailble, we will contact you promptly with an estimated restock date or offer a refund.

2. Payment

We accept major credit cards, Paypal, and Venmo. All transactions are processed securely by Stripe. Prices are listed in USD and are subject to change without notice.

3. Shipping

Orders are shipped during business hours Monday - Friday.

Most in-stock orders will be processed and shipped within 3-7 business days.

All full perfume bottles, due to the alcohol content, can only be legally ground shipped. We cannot ship to PO boxes, APO, FPO and DPO. An arrangement can be made to ship to a local UPS Store for pickup.

We are not responsible for shipments with incorrect addresses provided by the customer. We are not responsible for refunding or replacing shipments for packages shown as delivered. Please contact the carrier directly.

We currently ship to the US & Canada. Transit times vary based on destination and customs processing.

U.S. Shipping: We ship via USPS. Delivery typically takes 3–10 business days depending on location.
International Shipping: Available in Canada. Please note that customs fees, duties, and VAT are the responsibility of the recipient. International buyers are responsible for any import duties or taxes.

4. Returns & Exchanges

Due to the personal nature of fragrance, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges. We recommend purchasing the Discovery Set to explore our offerings before committing to a full-size bottle.

5. Damages & Issues

Please inspect your order upon arrival. If your item arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 48 hours at [email protected]. We’ll do our best to make it right.

6. Allergies & Ingredients

Before they go into a formula, every single one of our ingredients go through rigorous scrutiny in regards to safety. Although it is not neccessary to comply in the US, all of our fomulas meet or exceed the strict European IFRA regulations for allergenic content. Materials which recent research suggest have adverse hormonal effects (such as polycyclic musks) are never used. Nevertheless, due to the nature of natural materials it is not possible to avoid allergens entirely. We recommend reviewing our ingredient list and performing a patch test prior to use.
